We can sit here all day and argue if ripping blackheads off your face is good for your skin… Well actually, now that I phrase it that way it doesn’t sound so pleasant. But man is it satisfying!
For those of you who have blackheads and subsequent pores, you understand me. Those little textured bumps are the bane of my make up existence. WHY CAN I ONLY SEE YOU WHEN I WHERE FOUNDATION?! (aka when I want my skin to look extra flawless)
This Korean product looks like someone took a look at the classic Biore Strip and really wanted to improve upon the concept. This 3 step blackhead removal claims to “prime your pores for maximal extraction”, and “minimize freshly cleaned pores”. I’ve heard all sorts of great things about this product, and it has a 4/5 star rating on Amazon, and a 4.5/5 stars on Memebox. Check out the product here
Will it live up to the hype? Is this indeed better than the classic Biore strip?? Only future Rica can tell us friends, so let’s play!
First Impressions…
All the instructions are written in Korean. Now my Korean speaking skills are pretty good but reading is at about a 1st grade level. Also I’m maximally lazy, and super excited to try this new beauty toy.. so looking up how to do this online was not an option. Good thing my mom was with me for a little mother-daughter spa time. The Instructions said that placing the Step 3 portion in the refrigerator is recommended so before doing anything, I plopped those bad boys in the fridge and continued onward. (btw there are little perforations between each colored panel separating step 1, 2, and 3. Parts can be separated without disturbing other parts if you fold and rip origami-style… but scissors are recommended if you are reckless and accident prone like myself.)
STEP 1:

The first step is a watery pack that kinda smells like a cardboard box. Not OVERLY offensive but not pleasant. Like if you sniffed an old cardboard box and maybe a skunk had lived in it at some point, but it’s okay because febreze was sprayed on it. (I’m being dramatic, it’s not that bad). Make sure your face is clean and dry and place the wet pad on your nose. This step is what is priming your pores, but careful because there is quite a lot of fluid in the Step 1 pouch… and it will make your shirt smell like cardboard. There is a slight tingle which scared me because I thought it would continue to get stronger, but it decreased over time. Leave this puppy on your nose for 15-20minutes and move on to STEP 2!
STEP 2:

This step was more like your traditional biore strip application and removal method. After taking the wet STEP 1 nose pack off, you wet your nose with some water so that the STEP 2 adhesive has something to stick onto. It is stressed in the instructions that your hands should be dry, as the strip on the STEP 2 adheres to anything with moisture. Peel off the backing, and really press the strip into the edges and corners of your nose for maximal contact(careful because once it sticks there’s no time to remove and change it’s position)! After 10-15minutes the strip felt hard and dry, upon slowly peeling the strip off my face, the blackheads were revealed!
If you do not like seeing gross junk PLEASE USE CAUTION WHILE SCROLLING!

STEP 3:

I didn’t notice too much of a sticky residue on my face after STEP 2, and all that’s left is to place cooling STEP 3, taken fresh outta the fridge upon my nose. The fit wasn’t perfect for this nose strip… is this how pointy my nose would look if I fit media standards?? Mommy am I pretty now??… ahem. Just kidding! Overall you’re supposed to leave this on for 5-10minutes but honestly I just left it on. This final step was very relaxing and it made sense to use cold to shrink the gaping open pores which have been freshly extracted.
Final Thoughts…
So overall I feel this Pig Nose system did a great job! My blackheads and pores did not disappear entirely, but they did look diminished (NEWSFLASH: NO SUBSTANCE KNOWN TO MAN CAN ZAPP YOUR PORES INTO OBLIVION) . Upon washing my face, my nose area felt SILKY SMOOTH, and still remains so 2 days later (when I’m writing this review). So let’s rate this product…
PAIN: (5 stars being painless, 0 stars being immensely painful)
I would say that extraction this is slightly less painful than the Biore Strips… but also wanted to put out that after years and years of harsh acne treatments by face is dead to pain.
RESULTS: (5 stars being a miracle for the face, 0 stars being, does nothing)
Overall this was a super fun experience, the only negative is that is takes a little longer than your traditional nose strip(max: 45min), however I feel that the silky smoothness lasts more than a day and my pores still feel great. For me, this kind of beauty treatment fits perfectly into my pamper routine… if only they would come up with a strip for the chin and forehead… Totally recommend this product!
