July 2017: Sephora Play unboxing

Love to try new make up?? But you’re poor? Same girl…

And I would like to be a popular Youtube beauty guru and be sent things to try out… but alas, I am a poor graduate student and most things must come out of my pocket. Or go out of my way to Sephora just to grab samples in a little plastic jar.

Sephora Play! Is a $10/month (+ tax)  subscription box that usually has a wait list to join.. you get 5 deluxe beauty samples a month of things they sell, and 1 fragrance sample every single month you’re subscribed. You’re only committed to the month you pay for, but they automatically charge your credit card if you don’t unsubscribe.

I personally love having a little surprise every month…

Please keep in mind these are my opinions! I have VERY sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin… so there’s my bias!

Let’s get the fragrance over with (What I’m always least excited for)

Atelier Cologne: Orange Sanguine

This perfume/cologne smells like straight up oranges… I kinda love it… and that doesn’t really happen too often. It’s a stopper top, not a spray bottle which is slightly unfortunate. But I will definitely be utilizing this fresh scent in the summer! I’m not sure how much you get in here.. but this retails for $130 for a full size, and $25 for a travel size on Sephora (but even the travel size looks much bigger than this)

Briogeo: Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray

I love the idea of leave in conditioner… and my hair has been FRIED in the summer. I will definitely be trying this out! The full size retails at $20 for 5oz, so this 0.75 oz = $3.00

IT Cosmetics: Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara

I don’t wear mascara too often, but I do like when things have “good for you” ingredients in them. This claims to have peptides and proteins to heal your lashes as you wear… excited to try this out! The full size is $24… but I have no idea how many ounces this is to compare… so just sizing it looks like 1/4 a mascara tube so let’s say this is a $6 value

Boscia: Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment

First off… this is a GENEROUS sample size!! I love masks… and I have giant pores so I’m excited to try this out! Boscia is also a great brand for those of you with sensitive, acne-prone skin! The Full size retails for $38 for 2.8ounces… and you get 0.84 ounces, a $11.40 value!

Milk Makeup: Cooling Water

Ohh I’ve heard of this.. it’s like a glue stick.. but also cools your face! I am super excited to try this out, especially on my under eyes. The full size retails for $24 for 1.2 ounces.. so this 0.1oz sample is a $2.00 value

bareMinerals: GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Swag

I’ve been trying to take it easy on buying more nude lipsticks… but whenever I get a mauvey-nude…. I NEED to put it on my face! The full sized is only 3.84 mL, and retails for $18 so this is a pretty generous sample size at 2ml! This product is a $9.47 value!

You know what guys…?

… I think this is the first Sephora Play box where I really love all the products. If you have sensitive skin, this box was made for you!

Overall the total value of the box (not counting fragrance) was:

$31.87, not bad for a $10 box!

AND I am excited to try EVERY last sample!

What did you think of this months Sephora Play! Box? Would you subscribe. Honestly if you’re a Sephora brat, I highly recommend it!
