(See the end for a break down of what kinds of products you get!)
AMOREPACIFIC The Essential Creme Fluid
Full price $98 for 3 ounces, Dimethicone (silicone) is the 5th ingredient. Worth: $16.30
This is the fancy Korean skincare brand I always wished I could afford. This watery moisturizer is something I would definitely feel okay with putting onto my skin during the day due to its ultra lightweight consistency. If you’ve every tried AmorePacific or Laneige products, you know that classic fancy-pants scent. I’m surprisingly not sensitively to this scent, and it doesn’t break me out. I think I’m going to be really sad when I run out of this product. I’ve tried some cheaper Missha dupes of this brand but nothing makes my skin happier than AmorePacific or Laneige skin care (Laneige is the cheaper brand, owned by Amore for those of you not familiar with Korean skin care)
Boscia® Porefecting White Charcoal Mattifying Treatment Primer
Full price $38 for 3 ounces, Silicone free! Does contain Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Worth: $9.50
One of my favorite YouTuber’s Thrift Thick RAVES about this primer for oily skin. I have tried a sample, and I think it smells delicious and it’s silicone free (so it doesn’t break me out). It doesn’t play well with certain foundations, and it kinda controls my oils… but it can’t handle the intense oiliness of my skin. I will definitely use this up because my skin loves this product… and we shall see if actually does anything for my pores in the long run like it claims!
Update: Mostly use it for no make up days because it doesn’t play with my favorite silicone free foundations!
Dr Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel (one set of 5 skincare treatments)
Regular price $16 for 5 set, Silicone free! Worth: $16.00
I already have tried this product and know that I love it. My skin is ultra oily, so I have very clogged pores. Chemical exfoliating treatments are my HOLY GRAIL for clear skin so those pore block ups don’t turn into giant pimples. If you haven’t tried the $16, set of 5 that sephora sells I’d highly recommend. If I were richer… I would definitely be using this on the daily. Instead I just use occasionally.
Update: I love to use vitamin C products (especially from the ordinary) after this… it just makes ingredients penetrate more deeply which help my acne scars!
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream
Full price $60 for 1.69 ounces, Silicone free! Worth: $17.75
I’ve always wanted to try Drunk Elephant skin care… but it is just soooo expensive. This is an allure reader’s choice 2017 winner, meaning it has a 95% chance of being awesome. I do hear amazing things about it but there are so many other affordable things out there, even at Sephora! But it’s silicone free, just melts into the skin even though it is a thicker cream. I don’t sense a scent either so I think I’m gonna get some good use from it. Just because my skin is ultra oily I will be utilizing this as a night cream. Look out for an update to see if this works any wonders on my problematic skin. I feel like this is a good sized value and I’m excited to try!
First Aid Beauty® Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer
Full price $28 for 1.7 ounces, Cyclopentasiloxane (silicone, that I’m personally less sensitive to) is the 6th ingredient. Worth: $28.00 (Full sized!)
This product smells like coconut! Duh… I really liked the feel of it on my skin and I think it would be a good replacement for a moisturizer. If you have dry or combo skin I think this will be perfect for you! My skin doesn’t know what dry patches are and has… shall we say, it’s natural highlighter. But I’ll definitely give this product a go and let you guys know if it breaks me out. First Aid Beauty is a more affordable brand in Sephora, so if this works out I’ll definitely be trying out more of their skin care line.
Foreo LUNA™ Play
Worth: $39.00
This is an interesting mini. I am a fan of utilizing silicone cleansing tools (and just so no one is confused this is not an absorb-able silicone… so even if you’re sensitive to silicones this won’t react with your skin unless you are actually allergic to it…) It’s a vibrating tool that you use with your cleanser for a deeper clean. This is the Play size, and the thing I already don’t like about it is that you have to hold your finger on the power button for it to vibrate. If I notice a difference I will let you guys know but I’m definitely excited to try and see if the vibrating is important to cleansing? Right now I just have a silicone rubbery cleansing tool that does not vibrate.
Fresh Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask
Full price $62 for 3.3 ounces, Silicone free! Worth: $18.79
This is a beautifully deluxe sized sample and I’m excited to try this mask out! I’ve heard a lot about this mask from a youtuber that has acne-prone skin, and my skin likes clay! I swatched it in the photo and you’ll notice… it’s kinda a bizarre color. Not the MOST flattering but if smells yummy, and if it works I’ll look to buying the larger size. Unfortunately the full size is $62, but “Fresh” is a more spendy brand at Sephora (love their tinted chap sticks). I have a giant shelf with my clay masks so this has a lot of competition… We’ll see if it lives up to the hype!
IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Makeup™ 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm
Full price $38 for 2.82 ounces, Trace amounts of silicones, Worth: $4.55
Unicorns better fly out of my face when I use this product. I get that double cleansing is important… but I think it’s a little ridiculous when brands started charging high price tags for something that stays on your face for about 1-2 minutes and that you WASH OFF. It’s basically a glorified oil right? It looks like a straight up lip balm… I wonder if you can use it as a lip balm? But I’m worried I might be ingesting chemicals I’m not supposed to haha. It does say you can use it as a mask before you take off the make up… and I’ll give it a try… but there was definitely no way I would pay the price tag to try this. I’m glad I get to try it because my skin LOVES IT Cosmetics products. Look out for a update soon!
Update: This product has made me obsessed with make up removing balms. It’s TOTALLY different than an oil and just rinses off with water. When I have a heavy duty make up event this gets it all off. I love this stuff and I’ll be looking for a dupe…
Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Vanilla Apricot
Full price $35 for 8 ounces, Trace amounts of silicones, Worth: $8.75
I’m always thankful for a body butter because I use them all year round! (Hypothyroidism causes dry skin, I wrote a post about it! Now if only it would affect my face skin because it’s an oil well…) I’m not crazy about the scent… it kinda smells like vitamins… Which is a healthy scent right? It feels ultra moisturizing and winter is coming so I’ll slather this all over my legs, yes please. It gave my skin an healthy glow, but you can feel it a little bit. Not greasy, but just a little heaviness. I don’t think I would use this in the summer if I had more normal skin on my body.
Kate Somerville® ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
Regular price for mini $24 for 0.5 ounces, Silicone Free! Worth: $24
Whew this is a pricey exfoliating treatment for something so tiny. Again, my skin likes chemical exfoliants so I’ll definitely give it a try! And maybe the size is deceptive and you get a lot of uses. Lactic acid is supposed to be good for acne as well, so I’m excited to give it a fair try. It’s marketed as a 2 minute facial so it’s perfect for on-the-go beauty enthusiasts like me!
Update: I really love how tingly this feels during (might be a little intense if you’re not used to it) But my skin feels so SOFT and less textured after… love this stuff!
OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum®
Full price $48 for 1 ounces, Trace amounts of silicones, Worth: $12.00
My friend is crazy about this product, so I might pass this off to him. Though my skin likes vitamin C, I can’t handle the moisture this also gives for day time wear. It doesn’t play well with my all time favorite acne ingredient: salicylic acid (as it they decrease in effectiveness when used together), so I broke up with vitamin C. BUT it is a great product for night time if you aren’t married to salicylic acid. It’s good for acne, and acne scarring especially. Ole Henriksen is also just a brand a get super excited about because of their high quality products.
SUNDAY RILEY C.E.O. C + E antiOXIDANT Protect + Repair Moisturizer
Full price $65 for 1.7 ounces, Trace amounts of silicones, Worth: $11.47
This product is ultra moisturizing so I’ll try it at night. If you have dry skin this might be awesome for you! Scented like yummy oranges (just like vitamin C serum), my skin eventually drank up the product so it wasn’t sticky. Sunday Riley is also a brand I’ve been deterred from due to the price tag, but this might be a gate way skin product into my bank account being very sad.
Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter™ Eye Treatment
Full price $38 for 0.35 ounces, Dimethicone (silicone) 5th ingredient, Worth: $8.69
Look at this little baby size! It’s so cute! I can always use an eye cream to prevent formation of laugh lines. When you’re in your twenties it’s the best time to use eye cream for prevention! Another hack is that you can use a product that is too moisturizing for your whole face for the under eye area as an eye cream! Tarte is a brand I actually have a lot of make up from… but not a lot of skin care! I’ll let you know if this does anything special.
Overall thoughts/ Break down
This is truly… a skincare wonderland. If you are looking into getting your skin care regiment on point you’ll love this. I calculated the total value of this set as $214.80… and not $225 as Sephora claims, but I utilized the price of deluxe sized products if it is being sold in Sephora… but overall still a good value!
