When I developed a silicone allergy after my health went south… I went on a quest to find silicone free make up only to wonder…
WHY THE HECK DOES LITERALLY EVERYTHING HAVE SILICONE?!
I thought foundations were supposed to be silicone based or water based… because that’s what all the beauty bloggers that talk about primers preach but even proclaimed “water based” foundations have silicones… and a lot of them!
I started my Silicone Free List, and my Silicone Free Powders List for anyone who shared my struggle.
I started stalking Sephora, Ulta, and then I found this gem on Amazon.com….
The EVXO Natural Liquid Mineral Foundation!
Claims
This product claims to be Vegan, Organic, Cruelty free, and Gluten free… but if you look at the ingredients…

It’s also silicone free!
There are 7 shades, which is not the best… especially because foundation matching online is difficult and they don’t offer samples or swatches. (I’m going to try to ask the company to send me sample shades to swatch for this review), and it retails for $24.99, and I purchased it from the original seller ( Natural Liquid Mineral Foundation )
Will this Au Naturale foundation last on my ultra oily skin??
Will this be my new favorite?
Let’s play!
First Impression

The first thing that I noticed is that this product is very heavy scented like cake… it’s delicious and from looking at the ingredients I think it might be vanilla and shea butter and not an artificial fragrance. I like it… but I’m wondering if it’ll be too much after a while. It doesn’t really dissipate but I think I get used to it.
Before

After
This is a medium coverage foundation. You can still see all my pigmentation from acne scars, but it tones down the redness and covers up the less pigmented ones. This is what I would want in a daily foundation (which is great because it’s silicone free). It feels like it is set but looks very satin on the skin. It is actually making my texture look pretty good! Most foundations make my skin look like craters on the moon due to my acne scarring. This one doesn’t smooth them out necessarily, but it definitely doesn’t emphasize them!
On the Left side of my face I’m going to prime, and set the product as I normally would and on the R side we’ll see how the product does by itself on my oily skin

For a liquid foundation it feels very light and comfy on my skin.. Like i just put on a moisturizer. I definitely smell this though. Cake… RicaIsHungry…
Check in (4.5 hours)

Sorry for the weird lighting and the strange check in time! (I was at work… bathroom lighting) I actually didn’t have access to blotting sheets, so I just used some bathroom tissue and blotted my nose even though I didn’t feel like I HAD to. So far it’s a very comfy foundation, and my only critique would be that when my oils came through I got more of a whiff of the foundation and it made me do a double take to see if someone had brought in cake to work…
Check in (10 hours)

Overall I think that if you’re looking for coverage and super-glam on a daily basis this isn’t for you. But if you just want something with a solid medium coverage, silicone free, and smells strongly like cake for everyday wear… this is your new go to!
I have EXTREMELY oily, SENSITIVE skin and I can only wear select mineral foundations on a daily basis, so finding something that won’t break me out even though I’ve worn it a couple times is fabulous.
If you have slightly less sensitive skin, but still want to avoid silicones I would recommend the Milk Makeup Blur Liquid Foundation. It has a touch more coverage, but something in it makes my pores clog up if I wear it too much… but still its not as bad as 99% of other foundations!
